We're just back from a beach in the Bahamas. We used a destination specialist company called Wedding Day Away. They helped with all the details and didn't charge us a penny – they make their money from the vendors not the couple. Might be worth talking to them

Advice for beach weddings:

1) Provide lots of water to your guests at the ceremony. You can even get custom water bottle labels printed up with your names on them. If the day is sunny they will become dehydrated very fast.

2) Provide flip flops for your guests. Many of your female guests will show up in heels. Once they step onto the sand their heels will sink. You can buy a cute wicker basket and fill them with cheap flip flops.

3) Beware: I went to a beach wedding that had gold fish in bowls for the centerpieces. It was a very neat idea until about 2 hours into the reception the fish all died from the sun.

4) If the beach is sunny make sure shade is provided for your guests.

5) Living hear in Southern California I have seen many beach weddings where wind became a factor. Many brides with their veils blowing straight up into the air. If it gets very windy consider taking off your veil.
