Im planning a beach wedding & need ideas, checklists, etc. Can you help?

June 19, 2009

I am in the beginning stages of my wedding planning. My fiancee and I want a beach wedding at Redondo Beach Washington. We need help planning this. Its both of our first wedding, and we dont know what to do. Can you give us websites for checklists, or advice on making my small beach wedding PERFECT?

First off, congratulations!

I would highly suggest checking out www.pwponline.com. They have everything you could possibly image for planning your wedding. Their selection includes favors, favor supplies, gifts for the wedding parties, and even wedding ideas.

If you are leaning toward a beach wedding, check out their beach wedding favors, www.pwponline.com/beach-wedding-favors.html, they have some really great favors and it will definitely give you an idea of what you are looking for and all the options that are out there.

I hope this helps!

Best of luck on the planning!

  3. see if first you need a permit for the beach of choice

if it rains on that day find a location that you can have your wedding is there a pavillion ec.

do you have to rent bathrooms or is there bathrooms near

    chair rental locations

can you put flower pettals on the beach for a walk way

also invest in a cooler with waters for your guests that you can personalize the lables

  4. you can set up a budget and check list on theknot.com

check into permits to be married on the beach.
we too are getting married on the beach and there is a permitted needed.
you will need to reserve a block of hotel rooms if it involves travel or not

for centerpieces i opt'd to do a vase with sand candle and sea shells. im also doing beautiful paper laterns in my colors

  9. Advice for beach weddings:

    1) Provide lots of water to your guests at the ceremony. You can even get custom water bottle labels printed up with your names on them. If the day is sunny they will become dehydrated very fast.

    2) Provide flip flops for your guests. Many of your female guests will show up in heels. Once they step onto the sand their heels will sink. You can buy a cute wicker basket and fill them with cheap flip flops.

    3) Beware: I went to a beach wedding that had gold fish in bowls for the centerpieces. It was a very neat idea until about 2 hours into the reception the fish all died from the sun.

    4) If the beach is sunny make sure shade is provided for your guests.

    5) Living hear in Southern California I have seen many beach weddings where wind became a factor. Many brides with their veils blowing straight up into the air. If it gets very windy consider taking off your veil.

  11. Hi,

    Check out this link http://www.weddingblogger.net/?p=17

It does not offer anything specific with regard to having a beach wedding but it is a great article about the planning process and offers suggestions regarding planning software with an enormous checklist. You could also ask the bloger to write about a beach theme

Hope that helps a bit and best wishes to you and your Fiance !!

  12. We're just back from a beach in the Bahamas. We used a destination specialist company called Wedding Day Away. They helped with all the details and didn't charge us a penny – they make their money from the vendors not the couple. Might be worth talking to them
