What is the best website to plan a wedding?

April 25, 2009

I want to have an easy way to manage guest lists, budgeting, and host wedding information pages.

Should I use theknot.com or weddingchannel.com ? What other websites are out there to help plan a weddding?

Cant go wrong with theknot.com there are checklists and answers to all the questions you could imagine (for a wedding), such as etiquette, seating and stuff like that. You can post your registries, make a guest list, track your RSVPs and more.

–I'm sorry but I totally disagree with this poster!!! I posted a simple question on theknot boards and was TORN to shreds by complete bridezillas. They made fun of the fact that my family and I are simple folks and my fiance and I are planning on having an outdoor wedding bbq style, they made fun of the fact that I didn't have a lot of money to spend on my wedding, and the tore apart the date I chose because its a popular wedding date (which I had no idea at the time we picked it, due to picking it because of personal reasons vs. the actual date numbers themselves). If I could delete my account I would but they don't even let you do that. I would never reccommend going there. Find a better website.

As an alternative, there is a program called the iDo wedding planner. It's available for a free 30 day trial. I went ahead and bought the full version, which is only like $30 bucks. It's VERY nice! Check it out – http://www.elmsoftware.com/ido/index.htm

  8. I used the knot. It was great. Easy to keep up with everything. Plus, I had a bag(tote) that I kept a notebook and folder in. In there I had notes, for when I could not get to computer, and a vendors list, guest list, important phone numbers. And I kept a copy of all contracts in the folder along with any order forms.
I just always forgot to write down where I stored things in the house so I ended up with a few duplicates.

  9. I've been using a couple of different ones, you might wanna try using http://financialplan.about.com, they have a very useful wedding budget worksheet and also try the wedding help line, they have a lot of useful tips, especially if you've have no idea on how and where to start with the planning of your wedding, may I suggest getting a 3-ring binder and printing everything you think you may use for planning and keep it with you always, kinda like a wedding bible, cuz you never know when some ideas are gonna pop in your head, it has been a lifesaver for me! Best Wishes and Congratulations!
