Wedding Ceremony Planning: Where Do You Start?
December 31, 2011
As you begin planning for your ceremony, there are several things to consider like atmosphere, vision, space, ambience, formal or traditional and so many more. Here are some considerations to think about:
Do you want a formal church, traditional, elegant, or casual ceremony? The size, space, and number of guests should give you an idea of how much volume you will need. This will also help you select the right size group, and the type of instruments you may want for your ceremony. It will also help you to determine the amount of amplification you may need. In a cathedral, a pipe organ could sound awesome, but a string trio would be lost in that amount of space. What are your favorite types of instruments? Do you like strings, violins, horns, flutes or trumpets? What genre of music do you want at your ceremony? modern, classical, contemporary? As you plan your ceremony, here is a checklist of items/questions to help you plan and organize the event:
Have you selected background music for the arrival before the ceremony?
Have you created the lineup with first and last names of the bridal party?
Will there be a Ring Bearer and/or Flower girl?
Will there be a Unity Candle?
Are you planning a Sand or Rose Ceremony?
Have you selected a song for the recessional?
Will the Officiate make any closing announcements (photo’s, reception location?)
Will there be any special music during the ceremony?
Have you decided on the seating order for the immediate family?
Have you selected a song for the seating of the mothers/grandmothers?
Will the bride be escorted by her Father? someone else?
Have you selected a song for the bridal processional?
Will anyone besides the Officiate be offering a special reading? Who?
Any special music to be performed during the ceremony?
If so, prerecorded or live?
Do you have someone designated to run sound during your ceremony?
Have you provided contact information and music selections to performers, if applicable?
Do you need ceremony sound reinforcement from your DJ or Band?
Have you created a program?
There are so many considerations to think about as you plan your wedding ceremony. We have developed a complimentary ceremony and reception planning guide to help you through the process and personalize your ceremony for you. It is available to anyone asks for it, and contains more than 50 pages of planning ideas for your ceremony and reception. If you would like a copy, email us.

Your Guide To Wedding Invitation Templates
December 31, 2011
Creating your own wedding invitation template can end up saving you a substantial amount of money if on a budget. Since you’ll be creating the invitations yourself, all you have to pay for is paper and the cost of printing (in addition to postage and envelopes, naturally). Keep in mind going this route will end up taking a good bit more time and energy on your part. Make sure that you understand this obligation going into this or you might want to consider hiring someone to help you out with this aspect of your wedding and focusing on other aspects of your special day.
When You Need Ideas
There are tons of websites on the internet that can provide you with free wedding invitation templates. They even have options for designs such as lace, pressed flowers, fabric colors, etc. Ultimately, the easiest method is using printed invitations and thanks to the internet you should be easily able to create customized invitation cards for your guests. Wedding invitation templates range from floral designs to clean, white designs. One might even find cartoon themed wedding invitations, though those normally aren’t a desirable design for adults.
How to Use Free Wedding Invitation Templates
If you run a search on Google or your favorite search engine for ”wedding invitation templates” you’ll come across thousands of results, which include some very solid websites with nice themed selections and even template builders that will aid you in building your perfect wedding invitation. Some even allow you to upload pictures and use a word processor or program to write your customized text into the body of your wedding invitation in the font of your choice. There are numerous forums of wedding invitation paper you can use to print out your invitations. The choices range from matte or a glossy paper to basic choices. You can order these online or if you prefer, go to a store to get a hands on feel for what the paper is going to feel and look like in person. When choosing a print shop, make sure to do some research as to which ones are the best. You wouldn’t want to go with a sub par print shop and have your invitations come out looking rather drab because of inferior inks.
In the end, you can save money and express your artistic side by creating your own wedding invitations. You’ll likely end up having the exact invitation that you want and not what a wedding planner has chosen on your behalf. No one can read your mind and knows exactly how you’ll feel about your special day.

Simplify Your Wedding Planning

Simplify Your Wedding Planning
Who ever would have thought ten years ago that getting ready for your wedding can be done so easily with the use of the internet! There was a time where no one thought this amazing tool would work or even help businesses make money; look at the web now! If you are getting married soon, here are a few ideas of how you can take advantage of this tool to help you in your preparation for the big day.
If you are shopping for a wedding ring, the internet is fantastic! You have the ability to shop at dozens of stores all from the comfort of your home, rather than spending a whole day driving around from store to store. Online retailers have made this shopping so easy. Browse through hundreds if not thousands of options all available to purchase online! Who said shopping has to be painful right!
If you are planning on ordering your custom wedding invitations from your photographer, you may want to check your options on the internet. You may find a better deal through an online store. There are businesses out there that will take the photographs taken by your photographer and design a wedding invitation for your big day. All it requires is you selecting a style that matches your personality and uploading a few images and they can get right to work on your invites.
There are those who might require the asacsistance of a wedding planner and the internet is a fantastic place to learn all about people who can do that for you. Wouldn’t it be nice if you had the option to get all of the info you needed about the company or person you are looking to hire prior to talking with them?? Or possibly find ideas on how you can do it yourself? That shouldn’t be a problem, just look it up online.
The internet is a fantastic tool and can be extremely helpful if you are getting married soon. There is so much information out there and so many people willing to help you have the best experience possible on your big day. Good luck and best wishes!

What You Need To Know About Wedding Music, Part 2
December 15, 2011
Musicians for your Wedding
Another important part of organizing the music for your wedding is choosing musicians to play the music you have chosen. If you have a family member who is an excellent musician, you may want to have them play a piece for your wedding ceremony, but be sure to steer clear of being talked into having your second cousin’s daughter playing if you are not sure of her skills. If choosing a family member, make sure that you have heard them play and that they are qualified to play your wedding music or you may end up in a wedding day disaster.
The musicians that you hire for your wedding may depend on what style of music you have chosen for your wedding. If you are going for a very classical style of music you may want to hire a string quartet or a brass or woodwind quintet. If you want your processional to have organ music, then you may need to hire an organist as well. You may also want to hire a pianist for your wedding, especially if you are having people sing in your wedding. If the wedding is an important part of your ceremony, make sure that you can have at least some of the musicians available at the wedding rehearsal to make sure that everything goes smoothly the next day.
Choosing a DJ
Many people decide to choose a DJ for their wedding reception instead of live music because it is a great deal cheaper than hiring a full band and usually you can get a greater variety of music as well. There are many DJs to choose from for your wedding reception, but you want to make sure that you get the very best. When choosing a DJ you may want to check with friends and family who have had weddings recently and see if they have a recommendation. You can also check with a wedding planner or even with your reception hall to see if they have any DJs that they would recommend.
Once you have a few names for consideration you will want to interview each of the DJs and ask to see video of any weddings they have done in the past. Make sure that you get along well and that the DJ is easy to work with and will take your suggestions. Other things to check into when hiring a DJ is the cost, making sure they will be dressed appropriately, and the amount of experience they have doing weddings.
Remember that your wedding is your special day, and you want to make sure that everything goes well. Make sure that you pick the music you want for your wedding and find musicians and DJs that are experienced and professional. You want your wedding day to be perfect, so spend time in the beginning choosing the right music and the right people to perform that music at your wedding. A little time spent before your wedding deal with choosing and organizing your music can save you from a wedding day disaster.
